Everybody knew instantly that bringing in Anthony Davis would change the fate of the Los Angeles Lakers and that’s exactly what happened. After winning an NBA championship alongside LeBron James, the Lakers realized what he brings to the table. So giving him his hefty $190 million contract for five years was a no-brainer for them.
In 2019, the New Orleans Pelicans agreed to trade Davis for many things in return. They received Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart, and three first-round picks with a fourth overall pick in the 2019 Draft. After that, there was no looking back for the purple and gold. For obvious reasons, they are the clear winners of the trade.
The aftermath of winning a title and bagging a contract with the reigning champions saw the arrival of a beautiful new car for the superstar. However, his teammate Kyle Kuzma couldn’t stop himself from showing off Davis’ new ride and poking fun at him on his Instagram. In the video, he said, “Look at this car! You acting different. You win one championship and you don’t know how to act.”

Kuzma, on the other hand, is yet to get his rookie extension, and the Lakers only have until December 21 to make that happen. With just a week more left, it’s possible the two parties have reached an impasse.

How did Anthony Davis impact the Lakers?
During LeBron’s first year with Los Angeles, it was believed that his stint there was going to be nothing more than just a PR move. But soon after, the AD and Bron proved these assumptions wrong and the Lakers became contenders in the Western Conference. Although a healthy LeBron deserves the credit, so does Anthony Davis for sharing the burden with the legend.
Davis became the second star for LeBron to lean on to. Their bond together on and off the court became a source for entertainment for everyone. Both of them have signed extensions with the Lakers and it looks like they will pave the way for the franchise’s future together for a long time.

If LeBron retires anytime soon and Davis decides to stay with Los Angeles, he can be their franchise player. This is a team that consists of a long list of legendary basketball figures. There is no doubt that the team is in a much better place after acquiring Davis.
