Isiah Thomas was arguably one of the greatest point guards of his time. The 2-time NBA champion, who has played against multiple Hall of Famers, recently spoke to Shannon Sharpe at Club Shay Shay and said,
“Steph Curry in his run, he had to beat arguably the greatest player ever. During my run, I had to beat arguably the greatest 4 players ever at that time. Magic, Kareem, Bird and Dr. J,” Thomas continued and added “Steph Curry winning against LeBron James to me that was a huge feat, for a small person to be able to defeat him.”

Steph Curry in the NBA
Steph Curry is a point guard just like Isiah Thomas and has been the leader of a dominant Warrior’ team that played 5 NBA finals in a row. The average NBA player stands 6″7′ tall, while Curry is only 6″ tall. While that would be a red flag for many, The Warriors took their chances with the point guard and he has delivered spectacularly.
By the second season, Curry was an elite shooter with the 3 point field goal percentage of 44.2%. The sky was the limit for Curry. In the 2014-15 season, Steph Curry won his first MVP trophy, averaging 24 points, 7.7 assists and 4 rebounds as the Warriors beat LeBron‘s depleted Cavaliers.

Curry has been one of the top shooters in the NBA in a very long time. The Dubs reached the finals for five years in a row. This run ended when Thompson and Curry suffered through season long injuries. The Warriors now are seeing the Big Three return to full fitness. With their return and a second overall pick, the Warriors are in the running to become the top team in the West.
Curry might not be as big as an average NBA player, but he surely is one of the best players in the league who has changed the face of a franchise.
