The Brooklyn Nets are in the market for a new head coach. While interim Jacques Vaughn still may keep his job, the organization is looking for a bigger name than him. A lot of head coaches are expected to move teams at the end of this season. Currently, Chicago, Indiana, Philadelphia, and New Orleans are all looking for new coaches. Along with that, Houston may see Mike D’Antoni leave after this season.
This means Brooklyn is going to fight through a competitive market. Despite that, the Nets have had a fast start. They have even inquired on Gregg Popovich in San Antonio. However, Yahoo Sports believe that the Nets will struggle to lure Tyronne Lue to their team.
Lue is one of the bigger names available. He won the NBA Title in 2016 with the Cleveland Cavaliers. The star point guard of the team, Kyrie Irving is one of the two stars available in Brooklyn.

These are three high ranking teams with superstar duos. Lue could deliver a title to James Harden and Russell Westbrook, or finish the process with Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons.

However, Brooklyn may still be the best fit for him. He has two major talents in Kyrie and Kevin Durant. He has made Kyrie a champion before and KD ended a lot of post-season runs for him. Teams like Indiana, New Orleans, or Chicago may not provide the contending piece Lue needs, so they can be considered off the table.

With the possibility of D’Antoni joining this cramped coach race, all contending teams will have to trudge carefully. Nets also may alienate Jason Kidd. What we saw in 2019 with players may be repeated this off-season with coaches. The Nets have the most to lose, as they already lost a year of their Kyrie and KD duo. Ty Lue is the right experienced coach to guide them to a title.
