NBA legend Kobe Bryant was known to be a very competitive athlete. However, he was also a really good friend and mentor for those close to him.
When Kobe Bryant thought LeBron James was hilarious
In a video that was posted in 2016, Kobe talks about how LeBron James is a really good and funny guy. That time, LeBron was with the Cleveland Cavaliers that time while Bryant was with the Lakers.

The video starts off with a shot of LeBron impersonating the legend by tucking his shirt in like him and saying things he would say. They were all wearing team USA t-shirts so the video must be from the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Kobe says, ” He’s hilarious. I mean, nonstop. Do you know I mean? Like it don’t stop!”, while LeBron laughs sitting beside him.
Cut to the video of LeBron still mimicking Bryant, the current Lakers star does a few more hand gestures as Kobe would. He then proceeds to shoot a hilarious little air basket as everyone around including Kobe laughs hard.
“That’s who he is man, he just loves having a great time laughing and joking!” Kobe says.
Even though this shows their great friendship, Kobe and LeBron didn’t always have a good relationship. During the time of the video, they admired each other, but they didn’t share a deep bond.
Kobe and LeBron didn’t always have a close bond
LeBron signed with the Lakers in 2018. That offered more time and opportunity for him and Bryant to connect. Unfortunately, it was amidst mixed responses from some Lakers fans who were used to throw shade at LeBron in support of Kobe (something Kobe was not for).
Their relationship completely overturned for the better by the time Kobe died on 26th January 2020. It was reported that the two had started developing the kind of relationship they always wanted.

James decided to move on and focus on what lies ahead for the grieving franchise. He said he could handle the burden of playing through grief in pursuit of the Lakers’ 17th championship.
“God gave me wide shoulders for a reason,” James said, according to people who were present.
LeBron gave an emotional tribute to his friends and brother before the lakers finally played their first game after Bryant’s death. He also wrote a very emotional tribute to him on Instagram that moved everyone.
