The Los Angeles Clippers have exciting news for their fans. After a tough year filled with criticism and doubts, it looks like they are going to enter the next season with a fresh slate. And no, they haven’t made some incredible changes to the roster. Instead, they’ve unveiled their brand new City Edition jerseys. But it is Kawhi Leonard reacting to these jerseys that brings it even more attention.
The Clippers had it the worst last season. A title favorite team was sent packing from the Orlando Bubble last season by none other than the Denver Nuggets. The Nuggets had just kicked out Utah Jazz from the playoff run by overcoming a 3-1 deficit. Therefore, when we saw the Clippers in a 3-1 lead, we assumed it wasn’t possible for Denver to pull off something like that again.
However, to everyone’s surprise, the Nuggets were unstoppable. They became the first team to overcome a 3-1 deficit twice in one postseason. While it was all celebrations for Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic, the Clippers’ superstars were bashed notoriously online. However, former coach Doc Rivers had to take the fall for it and was fired soon after.

All that is in the past now. The Clippers are hoping to revive themselves next season. And they’re doing that by changing their jerseys.
Kawhi Leonard is the highlight of the video
Kawhi Leonard is known for having a stoic personality. While other players show a lot of emotions on the court, Leonard is always quiet, as if oblivious to what is happening around him. So, adding his reaction in the video they released to show off the new jersey was monumental.
Paul George appeared in the video first and he said, “I gotta show Kawhi”. When Kawhi finally makes his appearance, he said, “I mean, it’s alright.” But immediately after, he laughed and said, “I’m just playing” and showed his full support.

The video also featured the artist behind the design. According to the league’s website, Mister Cartoon is an iconic world-renowned artist. They have collaborated with him because of his impact on the street’s culture and to help pave a path for the younger generation of artists.

The font that is used on the jersey is by the famous graffiti and street artist, Royyal Dog. This is symbolic of the graffiti one sees on the walls while walking in the city.
Hopefully, their effort to set themselves apart next season will be successful. Although it will all boil down to how the Clippers play the game, instead of what they wear while playing.
