The Houston Rockets have really fought tooth and nail this season. Their journey in the playoff series against Oklahoma City Thunder has been a long and difficult one. I say this because a key piece of their puzzle was missing all along. Their star point guard, Russell Westbrook has not yet made his playoff debut this season. He was taken over by a quad injury that enabled him from being an asset to his team.
However, it looks like Westbrook is all set to showcase his wrath in game 5 of the series.

With the series being tied at 2-2, it is now more than ever that the Rockets need Westbrook in his true form. The Rockets were initially leading in the series by 2-0 but seems like Westbrook’s absence created a void that no other player could fill. OKC took full advantage of this and caught up with them, finally tying the series.
The wait is over. The Houston Rockets official handle on Instagram posted a video of Russ’s journey with the injury inside the bubble itself. It is a montage of clips that show from the very beginning when his injury was announced, his recovery phase and therapy sessions, and finally what looks like him making his return.
The voiceover in the video said, “For him to have this quad injury is not good for the Rockets nor for Russell right now.” and finally a voice towards the end said, “there is a lot of optimism in the Rockets organization that Westbrook will make his playoffs debut here against his former team Oklahoma City in a very important game 5.”

His return is certainly a very big deal. Not only because his team needs him, but also because it will be one hell of a sight to see him unleash his skills against his former team.
Should OKC be worried?
Without an ounce of doubt, yes. Oklahoma City Thunder has a lot to worry about if Westbrook returns. He is one playmaker that is not easy to tackle. With James Harden and Eric Gordon beside him, they can be extremely challenging.

The only hope for Thunder is that it is quite possible that Westbrook might only play for a few minutes. They would want to keep him healthy if they advance to the second round of the playoffs.
