The Toronto Raptors faced the Boston Celtics in a crucial game in their 2020 Playoffs run. As Game 3 kicked off, Kyle Lowry stood sharp right from the start. Lowry was chirping as always on both ends of the court. During a play in the third quarter of Game 3, he guarded a Celtics man near the post and took a nasty hit to the groin.

The Celtics looked to outclass their opponents yet again, but a resilient Kyle Lowry took matters into his own hands. The 34-year-old put up 10-points in the first six minutes to assert his presence in the game and then carried the same spirit throughout.

Lowry, as always, was playing his seamless two-way game when he had to guard a charging Brad Wanamaker near the restricted area. The Celtics guard took flight to score right when Lowry approached him with speed.

In real-time, Wanamaker lept and made the shot, after which a foul was awarded on Lowry for his contact with the Celtics player. As the official gave the call, a shocked Lowry could not hide his emotions over what happened. Further replays exposed that Kyle Lowry took a flying knee to his crotch.

The Raptors guard fell down in pain, and it looked like an offensive charge from Brad Wanamaker. But after further replays, the officials called it in favor of Boston.

After taking the hit, Lowry gave a brief scare with his on-court display. The six-time All-Star required small treatment in the area to get him back and running. Fortunately, the injury turned out to be nothing serious, which is a relief, because it could’ve gone either way.

Kemba Walker left puzzled by Raptors’ Kyle Lowry

Early in Game 3, Toronto looked to break quickly and gain an early lead. In the process, they endured a lot of fouls and had to deal with the physicality of their opponents. At one point during the game, Kyle Lowry felt he was fouled by Daniel Theis and demanded a flagrant foul to be awarded to the German.

The initial call wasn’t a flagrant. But Lowry’s vehement protest forced the officials to take a look, revealing that the Raptors guard took an elbow while trying to set a screen for Fred VanVleet. However, it looked like Thies was in transition and caught Lowry purely by coincidence.

This time, the call went in favor of the reigning champions, but Kemba Walker wasn’t impressed. While Kyle Lowry was stating his argument for a foul to the refs, Walker was spotted in the background with a puzzled look. He was looking towards Lowry, but who knows what was running on his mind!
