The duo of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving is perhaps humming 2Pac’s All Eyez on Me ahead of the 2020-21 season. The fans and the league missed their presence this past season. Now with these two bigs on the team, the Brooklyn Nets’ head coach is also super excited.

Steve Nash joined the Nets to make it a super team that made it the perfect recipe for success. His prior experience with KD came as yet another reason as to why both John Abbamondi and Sean Marks believed in his credentials. The coach has also shown a similar level of trust in his big guns.

The Brooklyn Nets coach sounds like a happy man

Just as the Nets winded up their first complete practice session on December 6, the head coach appeared for a Zoom call. He reflected positively on his team’s training and said that the players were following his instructions with every ounce of energy. Later, he spoke at length about his key players.

For Kevin Durant, the 46-year-old coach said, “Very excited and happy for Kevin, who’s had the longest layoff and the biggest challenge to overcome a career-threatening injury. He’s done everything that could’ve been asked and he shows a hunger and a desire of how much he loves the sport and wants to compete, so that’s been fantastic.”

Earlier, speculations were strong that Kevin Durant wanted the Nets to sign James Harden. However, the reunion hasn’t shaped up, at least as of now.

As far as KD is concerned, all he wants is to win his third championship with the Nets, and that reflected in coach Steve’s words.

The head coach has his plan outlined, and priorities set

Steve Nash has never won an NBA ring in his otherwise illustrious career. However, he would like to change that during his coaching tenure. For that, he has ensured that the Nets have begun by working on their weakness – the defense. He knows well that the team is loaded with offensive talent, but it is the defense that can pull them back.

The coach also spoke about Kyrie and said, “Kyrie has just been unbelievable with his ability. I mean, his ability is off the charts and to see him sharp and executing today the way we all know he’s capable of, but it’s still sometimes is a shock to see how beautiful the game is when it’s in his hands… The vets are leading the way, showing what it takes to be a pro in this league and to come in prepared.”

Apart from these two names, the Nets also possess immense talent in Spencer Dinwiddie and Caris LeVert. They’d want these two to grow their game as fast as they can. For them, the talks stop here as the new season is right around the corner, and it’s time to roll.
