When Harden picked up his two-year contract with Philly for $68.6 million, he pretty much gave up everything else. While Harden prefers to be somewhere else, there is very little he can do about that. Just 12 hours ago, Harden made that very clear. He posted an Instagram story that read ?Been comfortable for so long. It?s time to get uncomfortable.???
James Harden has no intention of playing for the 76ers. But Harden?s request for trade-off is all but vain. Especially when the 76ers president, Daryl Morey, is in no rush to do so. Philly?s contact is pretty iron clad and until they get a good deal, the trade-off will be delayed.?
James Harden?s NBA future looks bleak
Kendrick Perkins, a former NBA champion turned sports analyst, denies all hope for Harden. ?James Harden has 0 leverage? It?s not like when he was with the Rockets where he had leverage?. Kendrick also thinks that Harden is in no position to opt out of the contract. Harden at thirty-five is slowly inching towards retirement from the basketball court. Furthermore, his performance during the semis in the last season and the crushing defeat against the Boston Celtics was an all-time low for Harden’s career. Weighing that, it’s safe to say that Harden is caught between a rock and a hard place.?
Kendrick Perkins truly believes that Harden needs to address his situation delicately because he has little to no power. Besides, the 76ers are in no rush to move Harden out of their roster. As the trade-off deadline for the NBA 2023-24 season approaches, Harden can only pray for the best. Else, we?ll see him on the court, playing for the Philadelphia 76ers.
