Even at 35-years-old, Chris Paul is one of the better point guards in the NBA. He has entertained NBA fans for 15 years, but Paul has never won any silverware in his career. With him getting older, one might wonder, will CP3 retire without a ring?
Well, there is still some time for him to win a ring before it’s all said and done. But Paul already has his post-NBA career planned out. In a recent interview, CP3 discussed his future plans once his playing days are over.
“Man, that is a great question. I’m sure my team and everyone who works with me and helps me would love to know that answer. I would love to be eventually a governor of an NBA franchise. Obviously, I love the game. Like, I love the game, and I want to be a part of it for a very long time and just continue to grow our business, Oh Dipp!!!– continue to tell these great stories.

I’m an investor in Players TV, which is an unbelievable distribution platform. And I’m excited about what other athletes. And it goes back to what you said in the beginning is that athletes are realizing that we’re more than just the product, right? We can be involved in the decision making and everything like that it goes forward. So I want to continue to build these brands and businesses and enjoy my family.”
Paul laid out his plans upfront and it would be terrific to see him involved with the league even after heading into retirement. However, as of now, most NBA fans are wondering- what does the next season holds for CP3 in the league?

When Chris Paul first joined the Thunder, many doubted if this was the right decision. The Thunder gave away their franchise player in Russell Westbrook for a then 34-year-old Paul. In fact, everyone already wrote off Paul and the Thunder even before the season began.
However, CP3 proved that he is not done yet and led the OKC to a record of 44-28 in the shortened season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Moreover, the Thunder locked horns with Paul’s former team, the Rockets in the opening round of the playoffs.

Despite being the clear favorites to win the series, the Rockets barely closed out the matchup in Game 7. Following another early playoff exit, the Thunder organization decided to sack head coach Billy Donovan.
Does that mean Paul will be traded soon as well in hopes of rebuilding the team from the scratch? Well, only time will tell. OKC do have the tools to go under a rebuild for the next few seasons.
