Kobe Bryant at the age of 17 had already made a name for himself in his school. As early as 1996, he established himself as one of the best basketball players in the country. For instance, his reputation as a high-school basketball player earned him a $2 million Adidas contract.
An Instagram page recently posted a throwback video of Bryant from his high school days.

Kobe Bryant went to Lower Merion high-school and made heads turn at his prom when he walked in with Brandy, who was a sitcom star and a signer at that time.
His friends deemed it impossible to happen and on the contrary, Bryant got Brandy to accept his invitation and the pair headlined the prom. This was a major moment that dazzled everyone at his high school.
A video has surfaced on the internet in which we can see a young Kobe Bryant interviewing his friends after the prom. Bryant has a mic in his hand and interviews people asking them about the prom.

A chirping Bryant asks a fellow student “How do feel you about the prom?” to which she replies “It was great.”
“How do you feel about the after-party?” adds Bryant. He receives the same response after which he turns to his high-school teammate, Jermaine Griffin.
Griffin mentioned on camera that they are the State champions, to which Bryant replies, “You should never forget it. It’s been a pleasure, see you. What is it? 1996? See you in a little bit, thank you very much.”
Bryant’s High School Achievements
Kobe Bryant went to Lower Merion High School in Ardmore, Pennsylvania. In his senior year, he led his team to their first state championship victory in 53 years with a tournament record of 31-3. Above all, he averaged 30.8 points and 12 rebounds and 6.5 assists during the historic run.

As a result, Bryant was named Naismith High School Player of the Year and Gatorade Men’s National Basketball Player of the Year in 1996 for his exceptional performances during his senior year in high school.
Bryant decided to forego college and pledge his allegiance to the NBA right after high school.
