The 4-time NBA champion, Shaquille O’Neal is giving parenting tips these days. The big man has had his incredible days in the NBA and now when asked about the little Shaqs, he says, “Listen, we don’t need another Shaq.” Yes, Shaq doesn’t expect his kids to build a career in the same field as his. He seems quite open to new options.
Shaq is a former Lakers legend and has reached numerous milestones in his career. From winning the Finals MVP thrice to being a 15-time All-star, O’Neal is one of the greatest NBA players. He is immensely respected for his game to date and moreover, his skill-set. He has won two scoring titles and ranks overall third in field goal percentage with a 58.2%. His dunking abilities were placed at a high stature and became popular in the years playing with Kobe Bryant for the Lakers.

Well, when it comes to his kids, Shaq seems like an adjusting father and not an imposer. “I try to encourage them, I don’t want to push them,” is what Shaq said to Conan O’Brien on the CONAN show on TBS. “Give me a pediatrician. Give me a guy that has his own law firm,” he added, “A store manager or give me a guy that is a movie producer.” Shaq’s only advice for his kids is, “You guys can do whatever you want. I don’t care if you play basketball or not.” O’Neal is clear that if his kids want a loan for their future endeavors they have to show what they got. “I tell them, you got to get three degrees to touch any of daddy’s cheese.”

One of his kids, Shareef O’Neal is a budding basketball player going through his college career. He is a player for the LSU Tigers for the Southeastern Conference (SEC). The son of a Hall of Fame player is yet to touch the courts of NBA. It will be interesting to track his path in the basketball career later on.
Shaq’s youngest one really impresses him but let’s see if any of them will follow their father’s path or find a different ambition in life.
