The Golden State Warriors‘ fate may take a turn for the better next season. They’ve done a terrific job this offseason, landing a top prospect James Wiseman in the NBA Draft and bringing in another Phoenix Suns player, Kelly Oubre Jr. The first one being Marquese Chriss, who is entering his second season with the Warriors now.
Although the circumstances under which they have brought Oubre are not great. It’s a popular belief that the Warriors don’t need anyone as long as they have Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson on board. But about what the times, when they are absent? Thompson and Curry were out the majority of the season last year, and everyone was keeping an eye out for their return.
However, it looks like the fans will have to wait longer. Thompson is expected to be out the entirety of the following season, and Kelly will act as his replacement. Although we know that what Thompson brings to the table, nobody can. But Oubre is their best option to fill that void.

Oubre was quick to be a fan favorite during his time with the Suns. He has played incredibly well alongside Devin Booker, but we can’t say the same about Marquese, who looks like he still carries a torch against the Suns.

Kelly Oubre Jr. is better off without the Phoenix Suns
Chriss struggled a lot during his time with the Suns. There were rumors that the franchise wasn’t very fond of him either. So, when asked about Oubre, Chriss didn’t have great things to say about his former team.
Chriss was asked whether he had any relationship with Oubre since he was a part of his former team. He stated, “I met Kelly in my rookie year when we played against him. He was cool with Book [Devin Booker]. It was just in passing. We’ve had a couple of conversations, but I support anybody. I want to see everybody do well.”

Then he took his shots at Phoenix and said, “Thankfully he came here. I think it’s good for him not to have to be there no more. Things are a bit wild with how they handle things. But I feel for him being in that situation he was in because that’s kind of how I got traded out of Phoenix too. I am thankful that he’s in an organization that wants him and wants him to be the best he can.”

The way Chriss found his fit with the Warriors, it looks like Oubre will also carve out a better path of his career with the Warriors. If he will be able to do justice to Thompson’s position, is a question for another day.
