The Miami Heat have been on a slump ever since the ‘Heatles’ broke up. They haven’t been able to go past the second round of the playoffs since 2014. But this season they’ve had a big overhaul. Out of their seven top scorers from last season, only one is still on the roster. They have brought in a leader in Jimmy Butler and have an exciting bunch of youngsters, which makes them a sleeper for the playoffs, according to ESPN’s Stephen A Smith.
While making an appearance on “Inside the Green Room” with Danny Green and Harrison Sanford, Smith said, “I think Miami is a sleeper because they got (Tyler) Herro and Duncan Robinson that pull up from the parking lot. They don’t give a damn, they have no conscience. I love those guys.”
“Herro and Robinson have the potential to be an elite shooting duo for the Miami heat for years to come. And when they’re making shots, Miami is just a different team. You can’t applaud enough the leadership of Jimmy Butler and what’s he’s been able to do for the team along with Bam Adebayo, even though he’s only 22.”

Miami Heat: A team to watch out for in the East
After bringing Butler in a sign and trade in the Off-Season, the Heat have found a leader who has at least five more years to offer. With their 13th overall pick, they drafted Tyler Herro, who has shown he can be an elite shooter. Kendrick Nunn was a big steal for the Heat. He had previously gone undrafted and had played a season in the G-League. Then in February, Miami traded for two solid veterans in Jae Crowder and Andre Iguodala.
Against teams above .500, the Heat have had a 14-10 record so far. These include some impressive wins against the 76ers, Raptors, and most importantly the Bucks, where Bam Adebayo clamped up Giannis Antetokounmpo. Although Butler isn’t having his best shooting season, his leadership on the court has been immense for the Heat. He has brought out the best from the youngsters, especially Adebayo who is having a MIP worthy season.

Herro is having an excellent rookie season and was in the early conversations for Rookie of the Year. Robinson, on the other hand, has been a sniper for the Heat, shooting a sensational 44% from three, in just his first full season in the NBA.
