The gripping Los Angeles Clippers and Dallas Mavericks matchup has finally run its course. Even though the Clippers won the series with a 4-2 lead, the Mavericks effort was commendable. Despite being on the losing end, their star player Luka Doncic and his performance is all anybody could talk about. Just 21 years old Luka, is breaking records here and there in the first playoff series of his career. It is his extraordinary game that makes that will probably make the Mavericks less upset over not making it further into the playoffs.
Luka has made quite an impression on Mavericks’ owner, Mark Cuban. Cuban was found tweeting and talking about Luka’s potential on social media. He even did an interview discussing what Luka’s ceiling actually is. Let’s see what he has to say.

As expected, Luka did not fall short in any aspect in their Game 4 loss as well. His brilliance was compared to the likes of basketball legends Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, and Magic Johnson by his head coach itself. However, Mike Cuban took to twitter to disagree with this staement. He asserted, “Don’t try to compare him to others. He is blazing his own path.”

On ‘The Old Man and The Three’ Podcast, Mike was asked in reference to his tweet as to what he thinks Luka’s ceiling as a player is.
Cuban answered, “There’s certain guys that have got basketball IQ that gives them an edge right? they’re already two chess pieces ahead and they automatically make their teammates better. Luka falls in that category and he’s only 21 and so part of his upside isn’t just for himself but it’s the fact that he makes everybody around him better.”
Cuban says that players work hard to be open on court but if they don’t have a skilled point guard to get them the ball, the effort is deemed useless but he said, “Luka knows how to do that. He’s got the size. You know a 6’1 guy point guard might have quicks but he’s not going to see the whole quarter. Luka’s at 6’7 has got the ability to see over players and make those passes.”
The sky is limitless for the point guard
Cuban raved about the kind of effort Luka put in to improve his game and concluded, “If he continues to improve, there is no limit to what he’s going to be able to accomplish.”
There is a lot of truth to what Cuban said. Luka Dioncic has averaged 31 points, 9.8 rebounds and 8.7 assists against the Clippers and there is absolutely no way that Luka’s exhibits experience of just two years. He plays like a veteran which makes one think what will become of him after a few more years?
