Los Angeles Lakers center Dwight Howard is on the road to redemption. Howard was one of the most ferocious post players that the modern era had seen. He won multiple Defensive Player of the Year awards with the Orlando Magic, leading the team to an NBA Finals. He lost to his current team in those finals in 2009.
Howard’s career had one of the sharpest down-swings we had ever seen for an elite player. He forced his way to the Lakers in 2012 and had a bad year. He would then leave the Lakers and go to the Rockets, where a Damian Lillard three ended his championship aspirations.
Dwight has since bounced around the league, and everyone assumed that this Lakers contract will be his final shot at staying in the league. However, he lived up to the billing and is the defensive leader of their bench unit.

Los Angeles Lakers And Dwight Howard
Howard’s first season with Los Angeles in 2012 was a disaster. Even though his numbers and percentages were good, the team did not gel together. Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash, and Howard couldn’t co-exist under Mike D’Antoni’s fast offense system, with Howard being the biggest outlier.

His relationship with the organization collapsed, and he left the team in next years’ free agency. Howard has had 5 different teams in the last 5 years, but seems to have re-established himself in the league this year with the Lakers.
Howard is one of the leading bench players for the Lakers’. He is wildly effective for the 20 minutes he plays, shooting a whopping 73.2% from the field. He even has a 60% three-point average (3 made on 5 shots). This is probably the best shot at a ring for Dwight Howard, who is already in the sunset of his 16-year long career.
