LeBron James‘ seemed impressed with his former teammate Mike Miller who showed his basketball skills at the age of 40.
Miller retired from NBA in 2017 and was the assistant coach of the University of Memphis until five days ago when he resigned. A video came up recently on social media that showed Miller playing one-on-one against Tigers freshman D.J. Jeffries.
Miller had started his NBA career in 2000 when the Orlando Magic drafted him with the fifth overall pick. He played three years for the Magic before joining Memphis Grizzlies. In his second season with the Grizzlies, he won the NBA sixth man of the year award. He also earned a callup for the national team after that season. After playing until 2008 for the Grizzlies, he played a season each for Minnesota Timberwolves and Washington Wizards.

He then signed for Miami Heat in 2010 when they had formed the big three with LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh. With the big three at Heat, Miller won two consecutive titles in 2012 and 2013. Although he was far from one of the best in the team, his moment came when he made seven three-pointers in Game 5 of the 2011/12 NBA Finals. With it, he had set the record for most three-pointers by a reserve in a Final.

After the Heat traded him in 2013, he has short stints at Memphis Grizzlies, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Denver Nuggets. Miller had returned single figure scoring averages over his last seven seasons in the NBA. Yet, when he played a college freshman, Miller proved to be too good for him, at least for the short while they played. Perhaps, it shows the difference in quality in college basketball and the NBA.
