The air is hyped up because the NBA season is about to kick in from 31st July. Fans are going bonkers over the thought of getting NBA action again. Even though it will be a season with empty stands, Damian Lillard looks good to go. He is happy to come back and says, “I think the plan going forward is fair.”
The league will be back in approximately two months with renewed guidelines. Adam Silver made sure the teams do not face unfair competition while restarting. It’s a 22-team season, and it’s over for those eight left out. The teams will fight to clinch the playoff berths with limited number of regular-season games in hand.
For preventive measures due to the pandemic, there is no audience in the stands for the rest of the games. The NBA is creating ‘bubble sites’ in Orlando, Florida where matches and practices will take place for precaution.

Damian Lillard is looking forward to the NBA season return
Trail Blazers point guard, Damian Lillard told Lisa Robinson of Vanity Fair that the set up for the upcoming games seems ‘fair’ to him. “As a competitor, I’m happy we will get an opportunity to continue and try to make a run in the playoffs. I am a little concerned about the risk we’re taking dealing with the virus, but the NBA will take all precautions into consideration to keep us safe. I think the plan going forward is fair.”
Damian Lillard’s Portland Trail Blazers will be one of those 22 teams making it to the remaining league. Blazers are in a position to compete for the playoff place standing 9th in the Western Conference standings after Memphis Grizzlies. Moreover, with a record of 29-37 until now, Blazers will be looking at this as a fresh opportunity to move forward in the standings.
Damian had mentioned some time back that if the opportunity is not fair enough he’ll sit out of the season. Well, now his statement gives clarity. He was averaging 28.9 points per game and also became an NBA All-Star for the fifth time this season. Also, there were back-to-back Western Conference Player of the Week awards to his name.
With Carmelo Anthony, CJ McCollum, and Hassan Whiteside on the side, Blazers could be the underdogs of the season. Damian had once told in an interview that they could sweep LeBron James led Lakers in the playoffs any day. Well, now it’s time to see if that happens. The two will definitely meet on the road to playoffs.
