The Miami Heat pulled a rabbit out of their hat and defeated the Lakers in a surprising turn of events. Jimmy Butler was largely behind the victory with a sensational 40 point triple-double!
Butler finished the game with 40 points, 11 rebounds, and 13 assists, all while shooting 70% from the field. Even though the Heat were short-handed in the absence of stars Adebayo and Dragic, Butler proved himself capable of leading the team.
Jimmy was seen projecting confidence onto his guys during the half-time break, and this worked magically for them. While the Heat bottled up a 14-point lead in the 3rd, they came back strong in the final quarter.

Butler stepped up when it mattered most. Most people were anticipating a 4-0 sweep in the finals, but if Butler keeps this up, the Lakers are in trouble. Moreover, if Bam Adebayo and Goran Dragic make a return in Game 4, the momentum from this win could help the Heat tie up the series.
Butler’s grit and grind style of leadership was always deemed harsh by his former teammates. However, this hasn’t been the case with the Miami Heat. In fact, this is ‘Heat Culture’.
Have the Miami Heat opened pathways for a miraculous comeback?
While the Heat were celebrating in the locker room, the atmosphere with the Lakers will have been the polar opposite. The Heat managed to hold Anthony Davis to just 15 points after back to back 30 points in the first two games.

The Heat also forced LeBron James to commit eight turnovers. In a crucial game like this one, stopping the Lakers’ two biggest stars was the recipe for success for the Heat. But the question remains; is this the gateway to the NBA Title for the Heat?
Butler must be exhausted after playing 40+ minutes in back-to-back games. Moreover, it’s unlikely that both LBJ and AD will have such poor performances in the upcoming games. They should be even hungrier to clinch the series as soon as possible. But from what was just witnessed, underestimating the Miami Heat is never a good idea.
