Kevin Durant is one of the best players in the NBA. People seem to have forgotten how good KD is after he went down with an injury. While it is obvious that he won’t return the same player, it is foolish to question Durant’s otherworldly talent. One of the most unique NBA players of all time, KD is an offensive juggernaut that can score any which way he wants to. KD is known to shower praise on young players whenever possible. He also commended Mavericks star Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis.

A called Kristaps Prozingis a ‘unicorn‘ when Porzingis was still playing in New York. That nickname has stuck with KP, who is in Dallas now. Durant has gone on to praise Porzingis’s teammate Luka Doncic.

While talking to Rich Kleiman on ‘The Boardroom‘, KD spoke extensively about the 21-year old guard. (1:05:00)

“I think he’s built to be a star for sure. I think he understands who he is, how he wants to play, and what the future holds for him. Now what that looks like on the marketing side, I think Steve (Stoute) can answer that a little bit better, but as a talent in the NBA? He transcends a lot of things because at that age, to be that smart and to be that polished it’s just rare.”

The best part about this was this interaction between Kleiman and KD, in which KD used the perfect words to describe Luka’s transcendent talent.

“Rich Kleiman: ‘So the bottom line is Luka Doncic to me, is…’
Kevin Durant: ‘An f—ing problem.’
Rich Kleiman: ‘…A problem.’
Kevin Durant: ‘(Laughs) He’s a problem.’”

Luka Doncic has been proving why he is so highly rated in the NBA playoffs. He has led the Dallas Mavericks to two wins over the heavily fancied LA Clippers and has had some historic achievements while doing so.

It will be exciting to see Kevin Durant share the court with Doncic next season. Even though they are in different conferences, it is always nice to see a generational talent share the court with another generational talent. KD called Luka a problem, and it’s a problem even he needs to deal with.
