The Los Angeles Lakers hold a commanding 3-1 lead over the Houston Rockets. Although the Rockets won the series opener, it’s been all Lakers since then. Now, they are just one win away from making the Western Conference Finals.
The Lakers won Game 4 behind a strong performance by Anthony Davis. However, AD’s performance shouldn’t overshadow a stunning scoring display by the Lakers’ second unit. Alex Caruso and Rajon Rondo combined for 27 points off the bench, and it was more than enough to shatter the Rockets’ hopes for a comeback.
LeBron James‘ leadership has proved phenomenal for the team. Moreover, Talen Horton-Tucker had nothing but praise for the NBA superstar. Tucker revealed James’ advice for him during the game.

“He just told me to come in and stay focused, to do what I do. He told me that they got me, and what better words can you get from LeBron as a 19-year-old? So I just kinda went in there and just tried to do the best I could and try and get the win.”
Having a veteran presence on the court is certainly helpful for young players to blossom. And what’s better than playing alongside one of the best players the league has ever seen? Tucker also praised his veteran Lakers teammates, saying:
“What more could a kid ask for? Having those guys to look up to and try to model my game after every day has been great. I’m just taking it all in, and just trying to get better.”
Talen Horton-Tucker talking about what LeBron said to him and how much the Lakers veterans have helped him is the most endearing set of practice quotes I've ever transcribed: pic.twitter.com/yUOBwnvk4A

Along with LBJ, the Lakers also have Rondo and Dwight Howard as experienced members of the roster. Playing with such a talented roster is once in a lifetime opportunity and Tucker should grasp everything he can during this time period.
Are the Los Angeles Lakers capable of winning it all?

The bright lights of LA could be too much for some players, but for LeBron James, it’s just another day in office. James has always expected to lead his team to win a title, and this year is no different.

Moreover, Bron has AD on his side, which has released some pressure off of him. So far the Lakers have lived up to the high expectations the fans had for them. And if they advance to the WCF this Saturday night, they will take one step closer to their quest for an NBA ring.
Honestly, the biggest hurdle for them are the LA Clippers who will most likely be their opponents in the next round. However, nothing is carved in stone yet, but this matchup has the potential to be one of the all-time best series, if it were to happen.
