The Lakers are marching ahead so dominantly that their die-hard fans are convinced they’re invincible this season. In the NBA Playoffs 2020 so far, the men in Golden and Purple are 10-2. The top guns for them are performing consistently, and that is proving to be an ache for the opponents.

The Los Angeles Lakers unit is 3-0 in the post-season whenever they have donned a Mamba jersey. Video captures from inside the Lakers locker room have shown the huddle shouting “1-2-3 Mamba!” The Kobe Bryant spirit is helping them as their bench has certainly exceeded expectations.

Danny Green scored 11 points, 5 rebs, 1 assist, 3 steals, and 1 block in Game 2 against the Nuggets. He was impressive with his defense but failed miserably at the accuracy of his shots (just 28.6% FG).

However, he is in the team for more than just shooting. Recently, in an interview, he gave a sketch of how Lakers think when he said, “We still have a lot more to achieve. For us, this season was not about making it to the conference finals.”

He praised the bench and expressed this about the way they build energy, “They give us energy to talk a little trash here and there [indiscernible]. So to have that energy night-in-night-out. It’s a home game for us every night.”

Lastly, he detailed their mentality when taking on the resilient Nuggets by saying,

“They’re the comeback hits. Any Basketball person knows, just try to limit the two All-stars. I limit Jamal, I limit Jokic, they’re very good at what they do. We can’t ever be satisfied. We can never think we got them or that they’re broken. Even if we go up 3-0, this team is not the team that ever quits. It’s always gonna fight back. So continue to bring that intensity, that force and energy, and that edge, as if we’re losing the game, losing the series.”

The bench is united and aggressive

Danny, particularly, has brought a mix of good and not-so-good plays for the Lakers. In the bubble, we have seen him struggling with his shooting from the deep.

When Dwight Howard earlier called him a “Deadshot”, he laid the reasoning that Danny does not miss too many shots. And this was true until last year when he had a three-point accuracy of a career-high 45.5%. However, this year has limited him to some extent. Watch his hits and misses from Game 2 here-

About the Lakers’ bench, they’ve faced enough criticism in the Bubble. Still, Rajon Rondo has been impressive since his comeback, Alex Caruso is continuing to surprise the fans with his defensive abilities, and Kyle Kuzma and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope are also contributing whenever they get a chance.

Also not to forget, JR Smith has been a treat to watch whether he is on or off-court. They’re proving to be a great team as of now!
