Anthony Davis had a few rough outings during the seeding games, but the story has taken a different turn since then. He has regained his consistency in the NBA Playoffs 2020, where his output has been regular. His partner LeBron James couldn’t have asked more of him.
In the second game against the Nuggets, AD turned over just once and converted each of his free throws as well. There were a couple of moments when he failed to put in an impressive defense but remained flawless for the major part of the game.

The Akron Hammer did not have a particularly good second half during Game 2. However, Bron’s great passing ability still helped his men. AD took complete charge from there on and added 31 points to the total with 47.8% FG. James spoke high of his teammate during the post-game interview where he summed it up and said it was “a special moment for a special player”.

The L-Train also took to Instagram to share his admiration for Anthony. He wrote, “THAT BOY DIFFERENT!! HE LIKE THAT AND MORE!!! Salute my Woe and put some more RESPECT on his name!! [Speaking emojis] AD on Da WAY! [Fire emojis].” Bron was probably tired of people and the media ignoring AD’s efforts and simply praising either Bron or the Lakers as a whole.

This was not the first time the Lakers duo crushed the Nuggets in the crunch time. On February 12, 2020, the Lakers defeated the Nuggets 120-116 (OT) in a seeding game. That night, Bron and AD combined for 65 points while Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray combined for 54. The Nuggets have already had a taste of these two overpowering their star duo. They know Bron and AD will be hard to defeat if they’re both charged up.
In Game 2, AD’s game-winner three also got him a spot in the Lakers history books. He became the second player after Kobe Bryant (2006) to score a buzzer-beater in a post-season game where the Lakers were trailing. The Lakers will need many such games from AD to ultimately sit on the winner’s throne.
