Marcus Morris is in the news for the stunt he pulled over Luka Doncic. It was in the third quarter of the game when Marcus stepped onto the Dallas Mavericks’ guard’s already injured left foot ankle. This mishap is being criticized by fans who are not ready to believe it was an unintentional misstep from the Clippers forward.
Luka Doncic is a key player for the Dallas Mavericks, and this step over could have blemished his chances of keeping fit. However, he survived it because probably it was the upper collar of his shoes (which got removed as a result) that took the weight. But things heated after the game when Luka gave an interview and Morris shared his response.

Luka Doncic said in the post-game interview that he does not want to talk to the LA Clippers forward. He also looked skeptical and almost questioned whether the move was actually unintentional.
Later, Marcus Morris took to Twitter to explain his side of the story. He wrote, “Basketball has never been that serious to try to hurt somebody. Im not apologizing for shit because I know what I put into this game day in and day out. It was a mistake deal wit it. Competing is why I play.” He shared back-to-back two tweets in his defense.
I play this game with a level of respect for myself and other players. To think I would try to injure somebody is crazy to me. 10 years going against the best. I stand on morals and hard work. I compete and leave it out there every game.

But fans were in no mood to favor him. Moreover, both tweets do not have any apologetic remarks. So Marcus stays firm at his stand that it was an accident and not a planned move to injure the 21-YO.
The LA Clippers forward has had many such moments in his playing career
Marcus Morris was drafted in the year 2011 as 14th pick in round 1. He is playing only in his fourth Playoffs (first with the Clippers). The 6’8” man is averaging 13.6 points per game in the playoffs and added 12 points in game 5.
