It is rare that we see Luka Doncic score anything below 25 points. But the Bubble brought that to the forefront as well. The Dallas Mavericks lost 122-130 to the LA Clippers in a very enthralling game. The Mavs put up a brave show, but could not hold a win.
As the luck would have it, the Mavs lost the first game with Kristaps Porzingis sitting out. And now, they lost game 3 after their star performer Luka Doncic got himself injured in the third and the crucial quarter. Mavericks took the fourth quarter 37-28 but still trailed big time.

How serious is the injury for Luka Doncic?
He sprained his left ankle and hobbled his way to the locker room. His injury was serious enough that he could not show up on the court just when the team required him the most. Luka later said, “It’s not that bad. Honestly, I had luck that it was my left ankle. It’s not my right.”
Luka said he’ll be getting an MRI tomorrow and will know more about his ankle injury then.

So the man can see a positive in this. He was later in the game, seen coming back from the locker room, giving the fans a hope that he might play, but that did not happen. Luka will have an MRI tomorrow, and that’ll decide whether he is fit to play in the next game.

Have a look at how he was in terrible pain and did not want to put excessive weight on his injured ankle.
The Dallas Mavericks Guard’s ankle keeps giving him a rough time
He had earlier in the season sprained his right ankle and had missed a few games. All in all, he has missed 13 games in the regular season to these injuries. But as a positive, his team had won seven out of those thirteen games when they did not have him. This proves they have a great depth to turn to, even if they miss their best man.

We saw a glimpse of this even in game 2 where Luka Doncic sat out most of the fourth quarter while his bench still performed particularly well and they eventually came out a winner. Even today, we saw Kristaps Porzingis posting 34 points and 13 rebounds. Tim Hardaway and Seth Curry added 22-22 each with decent support from Trey Burke.
Luka had 11 points until half time but could add only 2 after that. However, he still managed a triple-double. The two teams will next play in the NBA Playoffs 2020 on August 23 at 3:30 PM ET, ABC.
