The Celtics were clearly frustrated with the way they let this game slip because there was some locker room chaos after the loss. However, it is important to realize that making mistakes at this crucial stage can cost them heavily. That being said, NBA Analyst Kendrick Perkins has some strong takes on the Celtics loss.
On ESPN’s First Take, Perkins is asked, “How big a deal should we make about it if players are yelling and things are getting thrown around in the locker room after a tough loss?”. Perkins replied, “Well, it should be a big deal. But listen, the Celtics are right now showing up to the arena in a cute and sassy style of play.”
He continued to mock them and stated, “They got their Versace robes on and Versace slippers and Gucci slipper with their Louis Vuitton swimming trunks.”
What are the Celtics doing wrong?
He made comparisons saying the Heat are ready for action but, “The Celtics are playing so selfish, offensively. They are playing my turn basketball. Kemba comes down, let me show you what I got. I got to cross over to a step back then Jason Tatum tells them, oh you got that? Let me show you what I got in my bag. I got the side step three-point shot.

“Then all of a sudden you see Jaylen Brown, oh! Let me show you I could do something too. I got a one-legged turn around off the baseline. That is selfish play offensively by the Celtics and defensively they have lost their identity.”
Perkins was right to raise the question, “Where is the Celtics number one defense that they’ve been leading in these Playoffs?. It has disappeared. They have lost their defensive identity.”
Thus, the Celtics need to bring back the fire they had when they beat the defending champions. Will they bring their A-game back or let the Heat take this away from them, remains to be seen.
