Miami Heat were 7-0 in the NBA Playoffs 2020 when they choked against the Bucks in game 4. They had everything working for them until the team just gave away the win to the ailing Bucks. Naturally, this led to some disappointment in the camp.
The Heat were #5 seed in the eastern conference. But the way they have been battling in the post-season has been commendable. They are ranked in the top 5 in the offensive ratings (1.14 points per possession) and defensive ratings (1.05 points given per possession). Still, they could not complete a 4-0 whitewash. Jimmy Butler has been the top performer for them. Although he could not replicate that level in his Game 4 performance, have a look at this from the last game-

Jimmy Butler did not have a particularly amazing outing as he could manage to post just 17 points in his 39 minutes of play. He is averaging 22.4 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists in the post-season, so the Heat expected more of him. He scored zero points from behind the arc and had an FG% of 40. Jimmy G. Buckets looked disappointed both in his own and his team’s performance as he conveyed his feelings in the post-game conference.
He expressed, “We relaxed a little bit. We stopped playing Basketball the right way. We stopped guarding. Stopped living by our defensive principles. We weren’t getting the 50-50 balls. We were getting out rebounded. It was all bad.”

This was not a game for the Heat to lose and Bucks to win!
At one point, the Heat were 100-92 ahead and then allowed the Bucks to take 12 straight points. The Giannis Antetokounmpo less Milwaukee Bucks were already at loss on their defense but Miami Heat could not leverage on that. Center Goran Dragic played well on his part by scoring 17 points but missed out on the buzzer-beater which forced the game into an OT.

Later in the OT, they looked weak in their defense. This allowed Khris Middleton to up his game and score back-to-back threes with ease. Tyler Herro shined in the OT, but the team failed to get the final possession of the ball and hence could not cover that three-point deficit. Bucks simply nailed it in the end.
They will have to come back to their older selves if they’re to beat the Bucks because if it gets 2-3 from here, the trouble will be more serious.
