The Los Angeles Clippers became title favorites as soon as they landed Paul George and Kawhi Leonard in the offseason. Living up to expectations, they clinched the second seed in the Western Conference after defeating the Denver Nuggets on August 13. Now that the playoffs have begun, the Clippers will be facing the seventh-seeded Dallas Mavericks.

Skip Bayless takes a jab at Lou Williams

When the NBA season began, a lot of rules and regulations were implemented keeping in mind the ongoing pandemic. Upon entering the bubble, players were not allowed to leave without due cause and prior notice. However, some of them didn’t adhere to the rules. Lou Williams was one of them.

The Clippers guard Lou left the bubble to attend a funeral. However, news soon surfaced that during his leave he was also found eating chicken wings in Atlanta’s Magic City. He received major backlash for his behavior because this could have had potential risks for everyone else in the bubble. Lou was asked to complete 10 days in quarantine because of his actions.

On ‘Undisputed’, Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless discussed the expectations of the Clippers in the playoffs. Skip said, “I got my Clippers in 7… and it may take Ole Lemon Pepper Lou to have a hot wing in that 7th game! He may have to close that game the way he’s closed Magic City.”

The above statement made by Bayless is a reference to Lou’s visit to Magic City. He means that Lou will have to take over the game against the Mavericks just as well as he took over Magic City during his leave. These hilarious comments definitely gave Sharpe a giggle and agreed to it as well.

Williams did show regret for his actions, saying, “In hindsight, I think as far as the public safety issue goes, I probably could have made a better-quality decision.”

What’s next for the Clippers?

The Clippers probably have the greatest roster depth with great lockdown defenders at their disposal. All eyes will be fixed on Kawhi Leonard, who had led the Toronto Raptors to the NBA Championship in 2019. They have averaged 116.3 points this season, which is pretty incredible for fourth in the NBA.
