Business magnate Mark Cuban purchased the Dallas Mavericks in 2000. The franchise reached its first-ever NBA final in 2006, when they lost to Dwyane Wade’s Miami Heat. Then they again missed to make it count after reaching the 2007 Playoffs as #1 seed. Now today, they have Luka Doncic with the capability to put them back on top in the coming season.
Luka held his head high as the Mavs exited the bubble after taking a 2-4 defeat against the Clippers. He broke and matched so many NBA records as a 21-YO and raised the bar for his team that performed well as the underdogs. Now Mark Cuban has certain points to make as the team’s owner.

If we look at the numbers that this Slovenian prodigy has generated, the projections for him have to stay very high. His threshold must still be far ahead, and at least that is what Mark Cuban believes. The Shark Tank fame joined a podcast where he said, “It depends on can he shoot like JJ Reddick [jokingly] or does he shoot like LeBron [James]. Seriously, that’s a big range. LeBron has got the best Basketball IQ in the game, top three IQ in the game.”
The NBA experts accept The Akron Hammer to have the best clarity around the game’s deep insights. Bron is known to study a lot many tapes, even to this day when he is nearing retirement in a few years down the line. But such praise coming from Mark also has a unique value attached to it. Notably, the Mavs lifted their maiden NBA title in 2011 by defeating LeBron James’ Miami Heat.
An answer from Luka that spoke volumes about his commitment
Luka Doncic won the credits for being the most improved player in this regular season. Mark Cuban puts it the best when he says, “Luka has got the ability at 6’7” to see over players and make those passes and then he’s 230-235. He’s a linebacker and he can get the places on court that give him a passing lane and even if he gets doubled or pressured and there’s contact, he can still make plays whether it’s passing or scoring.”

Mark also shared an interesting anecdote where he asked Luka about one addition that the Mavericks star wants to make in his game. To this, Luka responded by saying, “I need a left hand, I need to be able to finish with my left”.

Luka has worked really hard to sharpen his sword, and that just reflects from his game. In the playoffs, he averaged 31 points, 9.8 rebs, 8.7 assists, and 1.2 steals. Those are the figures of a champion and a guy who was playing with a hurt ankle. He has ensured that the second line-up of the Mavs also plays that their best and hence we can hope of a great 2020-21 season coming from them.
