Brooklyn Nets had high-hopes after signing Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant. Even though Durant was going to rehab from injury, Kyrie was going to lead the core of the 2019 playoff team to a successful year. However, an injury to Irving sidetracked the Nets. The team still kept winning and were invited to the bubble. However, since the coronavirus pandemic started, the Nets have been one of the worst affected teams.
The Brooklyn Nets lost 7 of their regular season players prior to the bubble. Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant, DeAndre Jordan, Spencer Dinwiddie, Wilson Chandler, Nicolas Claxton, and Taurean Prince opted out of playing. The Nets sent in their remaining starters with a hastily built team to fulfill their obligations. Now, it has been revealed that even those three healthy starters will miss the Nets’ next game against the Milwaukee Bucks.
Caris LeVert (thigh), Jarrett Allen (load management) and Joe Harris (back) will be rested. This means that out of 15 regular season players on the Nets roster, 10 of them will be unavailable for match selection.

Despite all the hell they have faced, the Nets will likely retain a playoff seed. The Washington Wizards are too depleted to make a run for the eight-seed. This means that the Nets may just be the worst playoff team in history. They will face the Milwaukee Bucks or the Toronto Raptors in the first round. This matchup will be an easy sweep for either team.
The Nets without their three bubble stars may genuinely be led by Garrett Temple. Jamal Crawford is on the team, but yet to make an appearance. This is possibly one of the most depleted teams in history. The Nets are thankful that they weren’t planning on being competitive this year, or this would have seriously derailed the franchises rebuild.

They are already looking ahead to next season with their star duo healthy and ready to go. The pieces featuring in the bubble may just become trade bait to add a third star around KD and Kyrie. The team is looking to trade for Zach LaVine to be the final piece.
