Former Boston Celtics star Paul Pierce is disinterested in watching the bottom eight teams play in the NBA.
As the league gets ready for a restart with 22 teams, Pierce said that he would not be watching the rest of the eight teams, even they played a mini-tournament of their own.
“You can call each other up, you have Instagram. Meet at the gym, that’s fine, just do it in the privacy of a pickup game at UCLA because I am not interested in watching these teams,” he said in a chat with Rachel Nichols and Brian Windhorst.

Boston Celtics legend Paul Pierce feels Washington Wizards cannot make it to the playoffs
The NBA agreeing to have 22 teams for the restart meant that a few teams near the playoff spot also have a chance to make it to the postseason. Apart from the top eight teams from each conference, an additional six teams also have a shot. New Orleans Pelicans, Portland Trail Blazers, Sacramento Kings, San Antonio Spurs, and Memphis Grizzlies will compete for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. Meanwhile, Washington Wizards, placed ninth in the Eastern Conference, will be competing for their spot against eighth-placed Orlando Magic.
Pierce felt there was very little chance that the teams would make it to the postseason.

“I don’t think so,” he said. “Barring the circumstances, no John Wall, no [Davis] Bertans, the Wizards are climbing Mount Everest.

“The Wizards are in an evaluation period themselves,” Pierce said. “Bradley Beal, he’s going to go out there and put up big numbers. But to be six games out, I know they have to be within four, only eight games to play, I think they’re climbing Mount Everest. It’s an evaluation period.”
The Wizards had 24 wins prior to the league’s suspension. Orlando Magic and Brooklyn Nets were the teams just above them with 30 wins each. They are the only teams that are yet to qualify for the playoffs.
