The Philadelphia 76ers are looking to pull off a big move this offseason. According to NBA Insider Shams Charania, the Sixers are planning for a blockbuster trade to acquire Rockets superstar James Harden.
“I’m told Philadelphia is expected to be interested in and pursue James Harden. The Rockets star, who Daryl Morey has history with, but as will other teams also express interest. As of right now, it is an empathic ‘NO’ from the Rockets side.
“It’s really a non-starter for the organization. Daryl Morey though has a history to be active on the trade market pursuing the different opportunities that may exist out there, and I wouldn’t expect it to be any different, now that he is in Philadelphia.”

Over the years, the Rockets have given everything to Harden, from top tier teammates to Head Coaches, but nothing has worked for them.
When they traded for Russell Westbrook in the 2019 offseason, the organization had huge hopes for the duo. In the end, they couldn’t even make it out of the second round of the Playoffs.
If the Rockets do decide to trade Harden away, it would an indication for a rebuild. That means Westbrook will be next on the radar to get cap flexibility.
