The Miami Heat have resurrected their chances to win an NBA title after pulling a brave show in this season. It is unanimously agreed that they are one of the best-coached teams in the league. It is admirable what they achieved with not many star players in their squad.

Earlier in the 2019 offseason, Pat Riley’s organization hit a masterstroke by signing Jimmy Butler into the team. He has proved to be a ferocious and aggressive leader, just as they required. They also have got an All-star level player in Bam Adebayo. However, something that they still lack is a great defense, and for that, they need someone big. Giannis big!

The Miami Heat and their odds to sign Giannis Antetokounmpo

More than any other organization, the Heat are very much eager to sign the Greek Freak. They’ve time and again showed their interest in acquiring the two-time NBA MVP. In the 2021 free agency, the Heat will do whatever it takes to sign him.

But their intentions depend on Giannis Antetokounmpo’s personal motives. If the 2020 DPOY declines the Supermax extension, the Bucks are supposed to offer him, his franchise will still not trade him away. Why would they? He’s their best chance to reach the NBA Finals, let alone winning it. But just in case the Bucks again choke and fail to go deeper in the 2021 playoffs, Giannis most likely will consider leaving the franchise.

In one such case, the Miami Heat will be ready with its offer to award him a seat, as per new reports

What will the Greek Freak add to the Miami-based organization?

Among many other things, the defense of the Heat can improve multifold with Giannis on their side. While the Bucks topped the chart in defense and the Lakers sat in the third position, the Heat were #11 on the standings. It is because of the Lakers’ super concrete defense that the Heat lost game 6 with a huge margin. Hence, they really need the Giannis edge.

Many other teams like the Warriors, the Raptors, and the Mavs, are eyeing to get Giannis on their roster. The Bucks forward averaged 29.5 points, 13.6 rebounds, 1 block, and 1 steal in the 2019-20 regular season. The interesting point being, his side lost to the Miami Heat itself in the post-season.

If Pat can attract Giannis to join the Heat, he can easily be the leader in the team and make a great trio with Butler and Bam. The chances of this happening are neither weak nor very strong. It remains to see if Giannis ever reacts to these rumors before making his choice.
