After a disappointing end to their 2019-20 season, the New Orleans Pelicans set to revamp themselves before entering the off-season. As per NBA trade rumors, two players that may be removed are guards Lonzo Ball and Jrue Holiday. While there have been many teams whose names have popped up, the former title-favorites are also showing their interest in Jrue Holiday. After losing their 3-1 lead to the Denver Nuggets, the LA Clippers have been scrutinized heavily. Thus, it’s no surprise that they want to build a better roster for next season.
Why are the Clippers looking to bring in Jrue Holiday?

The Clippers, throughout the Playoffs, struggled with consistent poor performances. Moreover, one of their key players, Paul George, did not rise to the occasion.
Entering into the off-season, the Clippers would want to bring in one more guard, forming the ‘Big Three’. By having Kawhi Leonard, George, and Jrue, they will inch closer to their dream of winning the title next season.
The Clippers had shown interest in Jrue before this as well. Before free agency had started, the Clippers knew they had to bring in a second-star player to keep Leonard. But on inquiry, they were told that Jrue wasn’t available for trade, after which George was brought in.

Looks like the Clippers are in need of Holiday once again. The player is averaging 19.1 points, 6.7 assists, and 4.8 rebounds. Every NBA team needs a 20-point scorer on their side, someone who can play either guard position and can consistently make it to the All-Defensive teams.
Other teams also looking to acquire the star point guard
It won’t be a simple task to get Jrue. The other teams in line waiting to get their hands on him are the Brooklyn Nets, Philadelphia 76ers, Golden State Warriors, and Milwaukee Bucks. On top of that, it won’t be an easy price to pay. If they Clippers really want him, they should be prepared for a trade war. There is absolutely no doubt that Jrue will be an asset to any team he goes to.
