The Dallas Mavericks are in an odd situation. On one hand, they are an extremely young team that have been together for just one season. However, that season blew all expectations out of the water. Dallas were projected to miss the playoffs, but eventually became a comfortable sixth seed. This was mainly because of the sudden rise of Luka Doncic from Rookie of the Year to an MVP candidate.
Considering they also have a former all-star in Kristaps Porzingis, it would make sense for the Mavs to go all-in now and try to maximize their championship window. While many have suggested that the Mavs may take it slow to gauge Porzingis’ health, the opportunity to go all-in may sometimes be too big to pass on. Especially for someone like Mark Cuban.
Sports Illustrated have reported that out of the plethora of teams that are interested in swinging a trade for Washington Wizards star Bradley Beal, the Mavericks are at the top of the list.

Beal was the second-leading scorer in the league last season on the dreadful Wizards team. He signed a contract extension last season, so it will be interesting to see if the Mavs can actually get him.

Dallas Mavericks going all-in
Bradley Beal is possibly the Mavericks’ best bet for a major third star right now. While they also could look to move for Jrue Holiday and add some much-needed defense, adding Beal makes them instant contenders. The offensive versatility of the Mavs will be unmatched. They already made history as one of the most efficient offenses in NBA history this season.

A trade package centered around the likes of Tim Hardaway Jr. and young point guard Jalen Brunson may work. However, the Mavs will have to part with a lot of picks to make this happen. The Wizards are under no pressure to move Beal. With the impending return of John Wall, Washington may fancy themselves as contenders in the weaker Eastern Conference.
Getting an elite offensive player to this already elite offensive team may be a truly inspired move. However, will a move like this possibly sink the Mavs? Or will it enable them for greatness? That is something that can be answered only with time and if this actually happens.
