Rajon Rondo won an NBA title during the early years of his career with the Celtics. But due to lingering injury issues, Rondo struggled to find a place in the league for several seasons. However, when he joined the Los Angeles Lakers, it all changed.
The veteran guard finally found a place with a team and proved to be a tremendous help in their championship run. Rondo filled the role of a third star behind the dynamic duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis for the Lakers. But what makes Rajon so special? Hall of Famer Isiah Thomas gave his insights about the same.

Rajon Rondo was never a great shooter or an athletic freak, but he always had one of the best IQs in the game of basketball. Pair that with his impressive passing ability, he’s an insane player. Moreover, if the Lakers want to win more championships, they would need someone like him.

But that’s not a sign that the 34-year-old is surely gone from the Lakers. He might be in search of a better contract, as his value is higher at this moment. All things considered, Rajon Rondo is an instrumental part of this Lakers championship squad. Without him, they would have trouble in reaching their future goals.
