Brooklyn Nets superstar Kyrie Irving recently made some questionable comments about his former teammate LeBron James. Kyrie believes this is the first time in his career that he has a teammate who can knock shots in the clutch.

It is true that Kevin Durant is a phenomenal player, but Kyrie’s comments are indirectly undermine LBJ. The duo of James and Irving shared the locker room for three seasons and even won a championship together.

Irving was a vital piece of that championship run, but he wasn’t the only one who showed up. James had a terrific series to erase the 3-1 deficit in the 2016 NBA Finals. Former NHL player Emmanuel Acho had an interesting take regarding Irving.

The question is not if Kyrie is accurate, the question is, ‘Is Kyrie out of line?’ Kyrie may have some substance to his point… The fact of the matter is Kyrie is out of line. Without LeBron James, Kyrie is John Wall. That’s who Kyrie is.

“He’s a really good player, a No. 1 overall pick, a five- or six-time All-Star, he’s been on the All-NBA team once in his career. Without LeBron James, Kyrie needs to remember exactly who he is.”

Prior to LeBron’s return to Cleveland, Kyrie had the team to himself. Although Irving was still an up-and-coming star at the time, if LBJ never returned to the Cavaliers, Irving might be ringless right now.

Moreover, Irving demanded a trade to Boston, hoping to lead his own team to a championship. However, Irving failed to accomplish the goal and left the Celtics after just two years.
