On the 42nd birth anniversary of Kobe Bryant, tons of people poured in their wishes to the fallen legend. Millions of fans sent in their love and some of them even made artworks in memory of Kobe. A twitter user named Lee Olsen published his sketch of an aged Kobe and Shaq, which got everyone emotional, including Shaq himself.

On a recent episode of ‘Inside the NBA’ on TNT, Ernie Johnson Jr. enquired Shaq about the fan-made picture and the details about it. “Somebody posted a picture of old me and old Kobe. I contacted him and I got it blown up,” O’Neal said. 

The four-time NBA champion has the beautiful picture framed in his living room, in honor of Kobe. Moreover, the Hall of Famer got emotional, talking about his loved one who have passed on. “I got like three or four-five wishes. I wish my sister was still here and I wish my father was still here.”

“But I wish this could be in the future,” Shaq said, talking about the old-aged photo of him and Kobe. “Us talking about good old times and my grandson doing this and my grandson vs. your grandson. I just wish that moment could be true,” he mentioned.

It has been about seven months since the tragic crash. Kobe’s death has been a hard pill to swallow to date. Even though we’ve to accept the harsh reality, it is tough to believe that he is no more. However, Kobe’s faithful fans are ensuring that the world never forgets him by cherishing all the wonderful moments that he gave us. 

The entire world celebrating Kobe’s legacy after his death has deeply moved Shaquille O’Neal. “The world is doing a great job of keeping his memory and his name alive. I see stuff on Instagram and on Snapchat every day about him. Definitely a legend, definitely would never be forgotten,” Shaq expressed.

Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant were the closest of friends. One could tune in anytime to watch the Lakers from the early 2000s and still be awestruck by their pairing. Kobe and Shaq are three-peat winners, who got past difficult times together, bonding together as brothers. There will never be another duo like them.
