The Miami Heat are having an unprecedented run in the NBA Playoffs. They are the only team with a confirmed berth in the Conference Finals and have lost just one game in the playoffs. They eliminated the number one seeded Milwaukee Bucks in 5 games, closing out the job in a game five win. Giannis Antetokounmpo didn’t play due to injury.
The Heat are now sleeper picks for the entire title. This shouldn’t be surprising, considering the Heat have a front-office full of people from their glory days from 2011 to 2014. Leading the organization is Pat Riley, but Erik Spoelstra is the man on the touchline.
Former Heat player Chris Bosh, who played under Spoelstra in their title-winning seasons credits him for enabling this team’s success through the ‘Heat Culture’ on the J.J. Redick Podcast.

“It’s really just the approach to things. It’s the way of the Heat really. To be hard-working, to be in shape to compete regardless of who’s playing. Playing together sharing the ball.”
“I give huge credit to Spo. He’s done a phenomenal job of really just continuing the Heat culture and really putting those things together. And figuring out how to transition all of those beliefs onto the court and have guys but into it.”

No matter how ardent a basketball fan you are, no one predicted this. The Heat was supposedly rebuilding around Jimmy Butler, with their young core not expected to blossom this soon. However, Tyler Herro and Kendrick Nunn emerged as star rookies, Duncan Robinson became a three-point assassin, and Bam Adebayo became an all-star. All around the sturdy and solid play of Jimmy Butler.

Now that they beat the rampaging Bucks, no team seems safe from the Heat. They may have been the lower-seed in every round they played, but they seem unbothered by that. This team is uniquely built for the playoffs, especially with the addition of Andre Iguodala as well. All these players have bought in on Butler as a leader and the coaching strategies of Spoelstra. No team in the bubble seems this united.
The Miami Heat are going to be a problem for the rest of the playoffs.
