NBA Champions Los Angeles Lakers are aware of the growing competition around them. The Lakers do not have large salary cap to lure free agents, so they are looking to indulge in trades.

Green, 33, had a disappointing season by his standards. The former Spurs’ star averaged 8 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists at a 3 point percentage of 36%.
Potential Suitors for Danny Green
All said and done, Danny Green is still a quality player. Green can still be helpful players for many teams.
The San Antonio Spurs would be a team that will be win-win for both parties. Green was in the championship team of the Spurs, and his experience can help younger players of Popovich’s Spurs.
Utah Jazz can also be one of the suitors. With Bojan Bogdanovic entering the free agency, the Jazz can get an elite shooter in Green. The Jazz will then be able to replace the void created by Bogdanovic and will some help in the defense too.
The Oklahoma City Thunder are clearly going through a transitional phase. With the futures of Chris Paul and Danilo Gallinari uncertain, the Thunder could use a man of Green’s experience.

The trade between the Lakers and the Spurs for DeRozan seems like a real possibility. The Lakers want to get to add DeRozan, who can be a key piece for the Lakers given the uncertainty over Rondo’s free agency. The Spurs in return will receive an experienced Danny Green and a promising yet inconsistent Kyle Kuzma.
Another possible trade scenario is with the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Lakers would receive Chris Paul in return of Kyle Kuzma, Danny Green, and a 2023 first-round pick. The Thunder is clearly not a win-now team and is looking to build for the future, so the trade makes sense for them. The Lakers will get Paul, who can be the 3rd star the team needs.

The Lakers are also targeting Derrick Rose. Pistons might be more interested in 25-year old Kyle Kuzma, than Danny Green. Lakers might also have to add someone like JaVale McGee to balance out the salary demands. This trade looks much more likely to happen.
Lakers can also sign Pacers’ TJ Warren. Warren showed us how versatile of a scorer he is and how dominant he can be. By trading for Warren, Lakers will ensure a third scoring option in the team, while the Pacers will receive a promising Kyle Kuzma, Danny Green and a possible 2022 1st round pick.
