The Lakers were the 2020 NBA Champions, but their starting five, except for the star duo, were largely criticized. It was hence obvious to see some shuffling in this winning combination. Now, franchise legend Magic Johnson has finally given his validation to this possibility.
Players like Spencer Dinwiddie, Chris Paul, Anthony Tolliver, Reggie Jackson, and Carmelo Anthony are on the list of a possible move to the Lakers. But even before any of these names could get confirmed, Dennis Schroder’s name has received the final stamp.

The Lakers to receive Thunder’s star guard?
Very recently, E.J. the Deejay posted on Twitter to announce the news. He wrote, “Lakers GM Rob Pelinka pulled off an awesome trade to acquire G Dennis Schroder who…”
Lakers GM Rob Pelinka pulled off an awesome trade to acquire G Dennis Schroder who averages 18.9 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 assists from OKC. @Lakers fans, this trade puts us in a position to repeat!

When 27-YO Dennis is added to the squad, he will be a short 6’1” guy in an otherwise big men Lakers. However, his addition does make sense because he brings versatility to their defense. Also, he is one decent playmaker with a very impressive run from downtown.
Moreover, he was second only to the Clippers’ Montrezl Harrell to win the Sixth Man of the Year award. The last time he had a complete season being a regular in the starting five was with the Atlanta Hawks in 2018, where he averaged a career-high 19.4 points. Having said that, he can also be instrumental as a bench player. Something the Lakers really need!

What would this trade further mean for Danny Green and the LA-based franchise?
This can mean a lot many things, but one sure thing would be the Lakers trading Danny Green and their 28th overall pick to house Dennis. Also, this can diminish the chances of the organization trying to stretch for an Eric Bledsoe deal with the Milwaukee Bucks. But for the Deadshot, the final destination might not even be OKC. Once the Thunder close the deal, they can send him to GSW, 76ers, Rockets, or even back to the Raptors.
Danny Green will not start the season as a member of the Thunder. They're trying to expand the trade.

Whatever be the case for Danny, the Lakers will be happy to have someone who can take the place of Rajon Rondo and ensure a bright future for the organization.
