Seems like the ongoing protests all over the country are finally making headway into the sports industry. Better yet, the changes coming forth due to the protests, are making some people show their true colors. And NBA players, like LeBron James, are having their fun with it.
LeBron James calls out a clown
Recently, NASCAR banned the usage of the Confederate flag, because it symbolized slavery and racism. These social injustices used to be a familiar sight at stock car events for more than 70 years.

Bubba Wallace, NASCAR’s only African-American racer, wanted the Confederate flag banned as he felt it had “no place”, in the sport.
Finally, amongst the protests triggered by George Floyd’s death, the company agreed. Now, NASCAR has officially left the usage of the flag in the past.
NASCAR announced this at Martinsville Speedway where Wallace was driving Richard Petty Motorsports’ No 43 Chevrolet. It had a #BlackLivesMatter paint job done. Many athletes praised Wallace for this and for the stance he had taken. One of them was our very own Los Angeles Lakers star, LeBron James.

However, not everyone is happy about that.
While it was obvious some people would be against the decision, one may not have expected that a racer would end his entire career because of it! NASCAR driver Ray Ciccarelli announced he is quitting because of this decision.
Ciccarelli had a total of 0 wins in his career.
NASCAR analysts believe that if Ciccarelli wishes to leave just because of this move, he is more than welcome to.
LeBron James, on the other hand, had a little more to say about this. The NBA star recently posted on his personal Instagram story. The story had a post about Ray leaving the NASCAR. What caught our eye here, though, is that LeBron had put up a clown sticker, exactly on the NASCAR driver’s face.
The story had the words, ‘Bye Bye!! I can probably say they won’t miss you! 👋🏾 Ha’.

LeBron James wasn’t the only one who reacted this way to Ray’s announcement, though. Washington Wizards Bradley Beal also responded to this on Twitter.

Sure looks like your move didn’t make you any friends in the NBA, Ray.
