While deep down we all wanted the Denver Nuggets to pull another wild comeback, the LA Lakers just did not let it get to that stage. The Lakers till now had not won Game 1 of any round, but this win will probably crush the Nuggets’ hopes. They were way too dominant for the Nuggets to handle and made them look exactly like the underdogs we imagined them to be when they were playing the Clippers.
The Nuggets’ star players, Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic got into foul trouble and there was just no turning it around afterward. However, the Lakers’ center really seems to enjoy playing against the Joker.
Nikola Jokic should be on the lookout for Lakers Dwight Howard

Dwight Howard may have not had a lot of opportunities to prove himself in the Playoffs so far. He only played 16 minutes in round two against the Rockets. But the situation in the Western Conference Finals is very different. With a lot at stake and no room for error, Dwight gave it his all in game 1 against the Nuggets.
After just 10 minutes in the second quarter, Howard was an asset on the defensive end. He came through in manning Nikola Jokic and even drew fouls from him that led him to the bench in the remaining 7 minutes of the half.
Following their 126-114 win, the Lakers’ center talked about playing against Nikola Jokic. “He’s an awesome player. I loved watching him grow since he came into the league till now. For me, as soon as I step on the court, I’m going to let him know I’m there.”
“It’s nothing bad, it’s just a competitive spirit inside of me. I appreciate his hard work and dedication to the game. This is a great opportunity for myself. I’m going to take advantage of any moment that I have on the floor and give my teammates and Laker Nation a 110%.” asserted Howard.
Dwight Howard told us the other day he loves to play against Nikola Jokic. When he checked in tonight, he wanted to show him he’s there — and maybe that Jokic should watch out off the court too. pic.twitter.com/nxYdJAiJn8

Can the Denver Nuggets pull off another upset?
Considering the Lakers defensive prowess as seen in Game 1, the Nuggets won’t have it easy. Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic need to have amazing outings with other players dropping more three’s if they want to have a shot at a win. They also need to work on how to stop Anthony Davis in the paint.
The Purple and gold will not make the same mistakes the Clippers did. This time, the Nuggets will need a lot more luck and better performance to oust their competition.
