It’s been a while since the Los Angeles Lakers won a championship after a decade, but it looks like LeBron James’ celebrations have not ended yet. LeBron James met with a former teammate and friend for drinks. Tristan Thompson was an integral cog on the Cleveland Cavaliers when they won their championship in 2016. The two have been great friends ever since.
LeBron and Triston played four seasons as teammates, from 2014 to 2018, until James decided to leave the Cavaliers and sign with the Lakers. The two helped the Cavs recover from a 3-1 deficit in the 2016 NBA Finals against the Golden State Warriors, eventually helping them to win the title.
King James has been successful in bringing in a title to his current team. His chemistry with Anthony Davis has been the highlight of their franchise, and they hold the top position in the Western Conference. However, it looks like LeBron is now in the mood to relax, and what’s better than meeting an old friend?

Thompson is entering free agency this offseason. He just finished the last season of his five-year deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers. As he is about to be an unrestricted free agent, it’s quite possible that he discussed his future prospects with his former teammate.
Is there a possibility of Thompson, his friend, in the Lakers? Dwight Howard is about to be a free agent as well. And if he leaves, the Lakers might need a helping hand in the offense. However, the cap space for signing Thompson might be an issue. If Tristan wants to be a part of the Lakers, he might have to agree to a massive pay cut, and that seems unlikely.
