Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant have shared fiery chemistry ever since they played as teammates for the Lakers. It’s quite interesting, the duo smashing on the court followed by the intense feud off-court. Even after years, Shaq never took a step back on roasting Kobe. Post Shaq’s trade to Miami Heat, Kobe-led Lakers lost the 2008 NBA finals with an embarrassing 4-2 to Celtics. O’Neal did a diss rap on Kobe post the match in a night club. It was one of the most hilarious raps that Shaq attempted!

O’ Neal and Kobe was definitely a fantastic duo on the court. They together won three championships for Lakers and exhibited brilliance in the game. No doubt, there was a feud between the two for all that time they played together during 1996-2004. With respect to the position in the team, both have locked horns multiple times. These instances finally led to separating the two in 2004 when Shaq got traded to Heat. He went on to win a title for Miami Heat as well in 2006.

Shaquille O’Neal – The Rapper

NBA season 2007-08 was going well for the Lakers as a team. They passed Spurs in the playoffs and entered the finals with a great stand. But unfortunately lost to Boston Celtics in the finals. It was the first time after Shaq left Lakers that the team reached the finals. Kobe had won the league’s MVP award for the season that year.

In a night club a week after the finals, Shaq rapped dissing Kobe as usual. It was too catchy for the audience there. He went on saying, “Last week Kobe couldn’t do without me.”, clearly pointing out Kobe’s defeat in the finals. Everybody around rapped along with him and he took the crowd with the flow. He even rapped on his divorce, “I’m a horse. Kobe ratted me out, that’s why I’m getting divorced.”

Even though Shaq-Kobe has a history of conflict, but Shaq cleared out his intentions of rapping with ESPN. “I was freestyling. That’s all. It was all done in fun. Nothing serious whatsoever.” He continued with it and said, “I’m totally cool with Kobe. No issue at all.”

And when we look at Shaq’s words on Kobe’s funeral, they were too touching to digest. Words like a ‘little brother’! It’s funny what equation the duo shared! It will surely be remembered in the history of basketball.
