The Los Angeles Lakers are the top seed in the west, heading into the 2020 NBA playoffs. But, they face a determined Trail Blazers team, who battled their way into the postseason journey. There are so many predictions coming in about who’ll triumph in this intense series. Former NBA star Jalen Rose is crystal clear about his favorite!

There’s so much talk about the Blazers upsetting the Lakers. While there is a genuine possibility of that happening, Jalen Rose has his mind fixed on the Lakers. He’s backing the purple and gold to overcome the challenge of the Blazers

While Stephen A. Smith is “incredibly nervous” about the Lakers’ title chances, Rose is confident of them beating the Blazers. Smith said, “I don’t know who the hell these guys are that showed up in the bubble,” talking about the Lakers’ disappointing form.

On the other hand, “Lakers in 5,” Rose said, in a recent episode of ESPN’s Get Up. He is extremely confident about the Los Angeles Lakers getting past this challenge and carry on with their quest of winning the 2020 championship.

Two main obstacles stand tall as the Blazers look to upset the Lakers

When you talk about the strength of the Lakers, LeBron James and Anthony Davis account for most of it. These two superstars are the most valuable pieces of the puzzle that coach Vogel has assembled this year.

Jalen Rose knows how tough it is to guard LeBron. He has faced him as an opponent and he fired a precautionary warning to the Blazers, ahead of Game 1. “Carmelo Anthony has done an amazing job of making timely shots. And Zach Collins: Those latter two guys. Do you know their main responsibility in this series? It’s going to be to guard LeBron James,” Rose said.

Furthermore, Rose was not holding back with his words of praise for Anthony Davis. The 27-year-old can help the team in multiple ways, and Green touched on those factors. “I just think where the Lakers are strong, is where the Blazers are weak,” he added.

“Therefore, they’re going to be dominant if they come out and play like they’re supposed to,” Rose said, talking about the strength that the Lakers possess. It is indeed a tough matchup and it is going to be a very competitive series. Can the purple and gold triumph in just five games like Jalen said, or will the Blazers stretch it till Game 7?
