Christmas is right around the corner and along with it comes a special treat for Kobe Bryant fans. Nike has confirmed the return of Kobe 6 ‘Grinch’ which is a stunning retro edition. The upcoming designs will come as Protos, and the brand has already gifted Lakers’ Anthony Davis with the mind-blowing pair of sneakers.

Anthony Davis shows off the perks of being a Nike athlete

Anthony Davis has sported Kobe’s signatures on numerous occasions in the past and he famously donned the Trophy Gold Kobe 5s during the 2020 NBA Finals. AD now has the privilege of laying his hands on the new Kobe 6 ‘Grinch’ Protos as the shoe isn’t out on the market yet.

The sneakers are expected to drop on Christmas Eve and Laker fans would hope Anthony Davis and LeBron James wear these for their blockbuster game on the 25th against Dallas Mavericks. It would indeed be a fitting tribute to the iconic Mamba.

The Grinch is a beloved colorway in the Kobe Bryant collection

Nike will be releasing the ‘Grinch’ colorway ten years after it originally came out. Back in 2010, Kobe Bryant rocked these sneakers against a stacked Miami Heat team led by LeBron James. The Lakers went on to lose the game, but Kobe stole the show with his flamboyant sneakers!

The shoe is obviously based on Dr. Seuss’ fictional holiday character who is a mean-tempered creature by nature. But to add the Mamba’s touch, the sneaker design has scaly upper markings finished off by a black swoosh on either side.

A shiny red Mamba logo contrastingly completes the beautiful front design. Kobe’s signatures are placed on the heel and the most interesting part is about the insoles and the laces, of course!

The insoles contain a message split on either leg and it reads: “I Want A Shoe That Molds to My Foot.” Furthermore, it comes packaged with two pairs of laces, one in yellow and the other in red.
