The Los Angeles Clippers fell to the Dallas Mavericks last night in an overtime thriller. Kawhi Leonard and Lou Williams were the two players who kept them in the game till the last seconds before they lost to a Luka Doncic game-winner. But what hurt them the most was the poor performance of Paul George. His form has been detrimental to the Clippers playoff run so far.

After putting up 27 points in the first game, George has been terrible in the following games. Since Game 2, he is averaging 11 points while shooting 21% from the field and an astonishing 11% from the beyond the arc. With these shambolic performances, he has set a new record, one that no one will be proud of.

Can Paul George get back to form?

In 2018, before the Thunder took on the Jazz in the first round of the playoffs, George said he was going to bring out Playoff P for the upcoming series. Not only did the Thunder lose that series, but he also let rookie Donovan Mitchell average 28.5 points per game.

Since then, George has struggled in each playoff series, and fans on Twitter have not been kind to him. But with all the jokes circulating around him, three-time NBA champion Dwyane Wade has issued his support for the struggling star.

The two had fierce battles back in the 2013 and 2014 Eastern Conference Finals when Wade’s Heat took on George’s Pacers. Although Wade came out on top both times, George was outstanding and that impressed Wade.

George had been impressive in the seeding games, averaging 24.9 points, while shooting 48% from the three-point line. But after stepping into the playoffs, this form has faded away.

Kawhi and Lou Will are being overburdened at the moment, and they need George to step up. The Clippers are 2-2 with the Mavs at the moment, and they risk a first-round exit if George cannot improve.
