Kawhi Leonard doesn’t talk a lot and is very reserved. However his colleagues and opponents cannot stop praising him, the latest being Andre Drummond. The three-time rebounds leader crashed a high school basketball team’s zoom meeting and surprised everyone. They were asking him questions and one was “How is it like playing against Kawhi Leonard?”
“He’s not too flashy and he does the right things. His timing is incredible and his anticipation is great,” said Drummond during the zoom meeting. “Watching his intensity and the way he handles the game, it’s like it’s poetic. It’s dope”

Kawhi Leonard: Silent Assasin
After calling him a system player a few years ago, Kevin Durant‘s opinion has now changed on Leonard. In an October interview with Hot 97, Durant said, “Players don’t sleep on him. He got the longest paragraph on the scouting report. You can’t pull out your whole array of moves on him. I can. It’s still tough for me to pull out all my s**t against Kawhi.”

In an interview with The Athletic, Boston Celtics’ rising star Jayson Tatum admitted that he has been learning from Leonard’s game. “I knew that I would have a much larger role this season, handling the ball in pick-and-roll much more often. So I watched a lot of clips of Kawhi (Leonard), Paul George in pick-and-roll situations. Just developing that patience and that takes time.”

He doesn’t speak out too often but he has constantly let his game speak for him. He is consistent both offensively and defensively, as one can bank on him to give 25 points every night while also grabbing a couple of steals. Despite playing just one season for the Raptors, he won them their first-ever title and will go down as one of the best players Toronto has ever had.
The Los Angeles Clippers will be resting their hopes on Leonard as well as George during the upcoming playoffs. Starting 31st July, the NBA will resume its regular season, albeit for just eight games before heading to the playoffs. Clippers also have a solid support cast for their stars with Lou Williams, Montrezl Harrell, and Patrick Beverly to name a few.
