Many things have happened since Kyrie Irving and LeBron James‘ stint in the Cleveland Cavaliers. The new stories about their relationship with each other and their time in that team keep on popping up unannounced. Their rocky relationship has left us all confused. Unhelpfully, another revelation from a reporter will only serve to further everyone’s confusion.

When 19-year-old Irving arrived in Cleveland as the first overall pick, LeBron had left the Cavs for good and gone to Miami Heat to find a title for himself. Even though Bron got tremendous success there, he wasn’t going to be peaceful till he won a title with his home team. He recently revealed that he returned to the Cavaliers because he saw the possibility of winning a championship with a player like Kyrie.

LeBron was right. They led the team to a highly celebrated championship in 2016. But it wasn’t as good as it looked from the outside. Kyrie, on the other hand, wanted to be traded off from the team, and he demanded it very publically. The franchise had no option but to give in to the request.

One might think that all this is history, but it seems like Irving still carries a torch against LeBron. When Irving recently revealed that he only trusted Kevin Durant to take clutch shots, it seemed like it was a subtle jab at LeBron. He even accepted that he wasn’t happy with Irving’s comments.

Three years before James made his comeback to the Cavs, Kyrie was the key player there. He was an amazing player but was also not enough to carry them to the postseason alone. As per Jason Lloyd of The Athletic, “He often lashed out on Twitter in those days about things that were written and said about him.

“He used to tell me in those early days before LeBron returned, ‘I don’t know why everyone is looking at me to be the leader. I’m just a kid trying to figure this out.’

It must have been overwhelming to hold the ceiling for a team. However, bringing up these old stories is only making things bitter. The two have consistently conveyed that they have no hard feelings against each other.
